Graphic Design Brief

We are a recently married lesbian couple in our 50's who invented our new last name, Melekai (Hawaiian for song of the sea). We live part of the year near Seattle and will soon start living most of the year in our new house at the pristine west end of Oahu looking out on the ocean with the beautiful green pali's behind/around us. My wife is a belly dancer with floral tattoos who loves the ocean sound and waves. Her image is the mermaid. I love music and play several instruments like the ukulele. We both love Hawaii and its greenery, flowers and the peacocks that live in our valley. We are looking for a graphic to represent us and our new name. The design needs to be flowing, womanly, beautiful and musical. Please include mermaid, musical and ocean/waves symbolism/pictures.

This design will be used to create a sign we hang outside our house. It will also be printed on stationary and other personal documents.

Requirements

Must have

• Looking for a sensual siren of the sea (mermaid) with uncovered breasts with powerful, flowing waves incorporated in the graphic.. Musical notes and/or instrument. At least one flower, preferably a Hawaiian flower. Not too busy but with some interesting detail. More detailed and colorful than a logo.

Nice to have

• Pali (Mountains) in the background or somehow incorporated.

Should not have

• Nothing harsh or sharp. No cartoons.
