Logo Design Brief

I need a logo that is fresh, fun, simple but graphically "cool" for a rowing website. We sell the most used equipment in rowing to New Zealand rowers. The logo should communicate a place for teenagers as well as adults to go to find the things they want and a place for teenagers to find cool products or recommend cool products. The attached logo is what we have at the moment and I would mind something similar but redesigned a little bit and clear and crisper. Could include the use of a rowing blade, or silver fern somewhere in the logo.
