This is what SMART Center was looking for in their logo design

We need a logo for our research center, the School Mental Health Assessment, Research, and Training (SMART) Center. The SMART Center is located at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle and dually housed in UW's School of Medicine and College of Education. A color scheme that is compatible with (but does not necessarily duplicate) the general UW color scheme (http://www.washington.edu/) as well as those of the School of Medicine (http://www.uwmedicine.org/) and College of Education (https://education.uw.edu/) is desirable.

The logo should clearly represent our connection to schools / education (i.e., elementary, middle, and high schools), but might do so in a way that is somewhat understated. This might include simple but identifiable images relevant to education or measurement (e.g., an apple, protractor, ruler, or graph).
