Professional Logo for Finance Macro Research Company Inspired by NY Knicks - "22 Research"

This is what "22 Research" and/or "22V Research" was looking for in their logo design

We need a logo design for our company 22V Research. We are a team of global macro equity research analysts publishing frequent reports for the investment community. We’d like our brand to convey a professional, classic, finance-y look and feel. The name is based on a founder’s family’s past sports career with the New York Knicks - 22 was his number. We would like to keep some reference to that sports career throughout our branding - obviously with the name, and ideally with some reference to the Knicks color scheme. Whether it needs to look like the back of a jersey / be entirely orange is up for debate. We had a designer create this first iteration and would like to build upon it and see alternative options with varying fonts, colors, themes, etc. Ideally the logo should work in three ways - horizontally, vertically, and with 22/22V as a standalone icon, depending on use.
