Civil Engineering Company - Commercial & Residential Engineering

This is what HRV Consultants was looking for in their logo design

We are an Engineering & General Contracting company. "Simple yet effective" would be my inspiration for this logo (don't include that wording into the logo please). Engineering & construction isn't flashy, it's efficient, and that's how I would like the logo to represent. Preferably not flashy or vibrant colors. It could be as simple as a font, some color, a line, etc. Or it could be as over the top as you feel necessary, as long as it follows the motto.

Also please don't associate us with something that might represent mechanical engineering. Everyone's first thought is to throw a cog or a wrench in there or something, but our design revolves around land development, commercial & residential (subdivisions, commercial buildings, gas stations, RV parks, basically anything development).
