We are totally committed to pay for a design if we get one that works-we've just never used this service before and so aren't sure how credible it is and didn't want to flush that much money if we don't get a good fit.

but i am having some trouble understanding what do you do exactly; From "This is a birth, midwifery, and new family services business" we can't get much information to form a proper path to the logo creation, so please provide some specific info to what does your company do.

Are you able to see our brief?  We put a lot of info in there about what we are looking for as well as a look at our old logo, which we like well enough but would prefer to see something in the middle other than a pregnant belly / baby or one designed a bit better than that one. 

We support women and families prenatally, during birth, and the postpartum time.  We attract hip / chic mamas who seem to gravitate towards warm colors-browns/soft yellow/blues....
