Logo Design Brief

I am starting up a construction company that will be specializing in the heavy civil and mining industries. We will be based out of Southern California, but will be working in Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Utah and California. The heavy Civil portion of the company will include public works & major infrastructure projects ranging from freeways, road, dams, bridges, along with alternative energy projects (solar field, wind mill farms, etc..) As for the Mining side of things, we will be contracted to perform overburden removals, contract mining, mining infrastructure, etc.

The Company is named after the garnet gem, I don't have any particular colors for the logo right now. The color of our company trucks will either be silver or white (depending on what the logo colors.) Our company's coulter will be Truth, Trust and Transparency and we are going to invest really heavy into technology. We will be the first heavy civil company to have a fleet of robotic earth moving machines to handle simple tasks on our projects.

I am a blank slate right now and am very open with ideas for the logo, but I have some sort of intuition that the logo would have a traditional/"old school" feel to it with a new age/"updated" look to it (if that makes sense.)

Good luck and I encourage all designers to be creative and think outside of the box on this one, as Garnet Company was created to be different and dent in the construction/mining universe.
