Update:
I've had some excellent designs, all very different, but a only a few front-runners at present. Having given feedback to several designers I'm currently waiting a some new versions coming in to me with subtle alterations (there are also a couple of designers who have indicated they are going to submit their designs shortly). For these reason I have have extended the deadline very slightly and will be announcing the winner over the coming days. Thank you all for such a phenomonal effort!

Decision time...

First, thank you so much for taking part in this design competition. There were ten designers competing and designs submitted ranged from very carefully thought-through floorplans that followed the brief closely, down to terrible Ai-generated floorplans that weren't even the right shape and had staircases leading nowhere...). But as the competition continued your ideas and attention to detail were all amazing, so thank you all. The final decision became very difficult for me because I liked little sections of every design submitted "What a neat way to organise the bedroom", " What a clever place to put the stairs", "What a great idea to put a balcony there" etc... stuff I would never have thought of doing.

But I need to select just one winner - if it's not you, it doesn't mean your design wasn't awesome or that I didn't like it, I had to pick on what ticked the most boxes for me, what was most practical, and consider the associated building costs.

IMPORTANT: You guys have given me so much food for thought here, that I will most likely organise a second design competition in a few months and invite just a few of you to take part; this would be for a much higher prize amount and would include a much more detailed brief, but I need to get a structural engineer in first to look at things and advise me what's possible. Watch this space.
