Yes, This is open. I only found design crowd because I researched a book cover I found called "The sun queen" at amazon.com. as I looked for the designer, , design crowd came up.

I have never used this site before and I was sending a message to that designer (or so I thought) that I liked that work he/she did. and that was kind of the presentation that impressed me. Sorry my communications confused things!

This project is definitely open . I want the best work for the book cover.

Most non fiction Christian books have covers that are pretty much text only with a few small graphics. I am looking for something that actually would inspire people to want to see the angels around them.

Are you providing photographs without copyright issue? Or you want illustrative Images?

Are you ok with illustrative cover design or realistic one?

You have uploaded so many images. that really creates a confusion. Are you providing images for the design?

The photos i provided were for reference as to the colors, look and imagery i was asking for. Any photos used, i will purchase the right for. I had tried to give a good description of what i wanted and a book cover that had a similar concept or feel to what i liked, but few of the designs were going that way.

Im ok with illustrative, i would prefer realistic for at least a portion or blended..

I posted all those pictures because I realized that everyone has a different idea of what an angel looks like, or what a "rich' brown or gold should be. What does serious and noble but not scary look like? 

I tried to give examples so you would know what it looked like to me. Ie..Michael Komarcks angel Michael... The sun queen as a reference "look" I mentioned God and said my readers are people who believe in the supernatural of God.

The designs are all quite good, some amazing... but going in different directions.. I wanted to show, by photo what I thought was a serious, noble "look" What rich browns and golds look like to me. And what the sun queen cover actually looks like so everyone could finally "see" what is in my head.

I know very little about using this site and how to even present the whole :"contest" thing and for that I apologize. I have many other book covers that need designs and I really don't want to make such a talented group angry to the point of not participating in the future...

Right now, the 3 best designs according to my panel of judges are a very realistic piece, a blended piece and a totally illustrated piece... And they are all amazing...

If you as designers have any suggestions for me to make myself more clear, or in how I am supposed to present info or images, I would appreciate it. Contact me however you would like, I'm not sure of the rules on how much interaction we can have.

Kevin, I really liked your cover. You were one of only a few that really got the concept. I am going to try to be much more clear in the future about what I am after. I hope we can work together in the future. You definitely have a great artistic talent and the skills to make the vision reality.
